The 1-day event is happening next Saturday.

A Taste of LKF brings together 9 eateries and 1 wine shop in Lan Kwai Fong for 1-day only which lets you do a food and wine tour on next Saturday, May 12th.

We thought we’d been to every place in LKF, but the preview we attended last week proves there are lots of great places still to try still in the LKF area.

Essentially it’s a wine walk but with food – you buy a ticket which gives you tokens you can redeem over 5 hours at these 10 places – and from what we tried it’s definitely going to be a thing for every foodie and wine fan to come out for…and we have a free ticket to giveaway to one lucky Winebuzz.hk reader!

Each place will have a signature dish paired with a wine. To us this is even better than a wine walk, as it brings in food to pair and all of the places are a stones throw from one another. The 9 eateries and 1 wine shop are:

Casa Lisboa

Di Vino

iL Posto 97

IndoChine

La Perouse

LUX

N.C. Grill

Robata Zawazawa

The Flying Winemaker

Wooloomooloo

If you use your American Express card you can get the ticket for HK350 if not tickets are $400 (click here to buy)- they are only making 300 available so you need to order them soon.

If you want to try your hand at a free ticket then go to our Facebook page “like” and comment on this story there telling us which of the 9 eateries is your favorite and which 1 you’re looking to try out the most. Contest ends on May 11 and we’ll email you details on how to get your ticket.

A great place for the most experienced – or a brand new – sake lover.

Sake Bar Ginn just opened in December and it’s already built a huge buzz in Hong Kong’s sake scene.

Located on a 4th floor in Lan Kwai Fong, the sake bar offers a wide selection of sake and Japanese snacks for those serious about their sake.

With over 70 different kinds of sakes and about 20 – 30 additional sakes depending on the season, Sake Bar Ginn is going to be your first stop in Lan Kwai Fong for sake.

They also serve Japanese beers, shochu and whiskies (but no wines), and it’s definitely more bar than restaurant even though they offer some delicious Japanese tapas style dishes that go well with sake.

Tucked between Insomnia and Volar on the main drag in Lan Kwai Fong in the Ho Lee Building, Sake Bar Ginn has a patio area as well as an indoors are – though the shisha place next door can get rowdy and take away some of the atmosphere – there’s always inside.

One of the cool things about Sake Bar Ginn is that if you don’t know much about sake you can learn by ordering some of the sake tasting flights: there are 4 sets to choose from, each tasting portions is of three different sakes from a single brewery. Sake Bar Ginn’s founder Ayuchi Momose is also around to help you with her years of sake know-how.

The tapas menu is also great as you can see in these photos – so if you want to jump out of wine or whiskey for a night definitely have a look at Sake Bar Ginn.

A wine shop that stands out on Wyndham.

This December, Bacchus & Century has promised to make available at least one bottle of each vintage from 1900 to 2000 in its new shop opening for the festive season.

For casual drinking or table wines, Hong Kongers have plenty of shops to choose from but when it comes to celebrating a special event, paying respect to a person or investing into the next Lafite Rothschild, there is a gap in Hong Kong that Bacchus & Century intends to bridge by individualizing their service. Whether it’s a vintage or iconic wine you’re looking for, or the prestige champagne corner, Bacchus & Century promises to differ itself from existing wine retailers, importers and distributors by specializing into core-offerings :

The 20th century of only French vintage wine (no spirits) without any missing year is not an easy task to complete. It requires time, passion and perseverance especially when one thinks about the 1st or 2nd World War years or specific years like 46 , 51 , 54 where wine productions were extremely limited.

The price will be also a unique point, as most of the bottles from Bordeaux, Burgundy and other areas in France will be available at an affordable starting price of HK$1,000 which will translate into a wide range of vintages and bottle selection…

Iconic French wines: Those mythical bottles will have their own section in the shop for the discerning buyers undeterred by the substantially higher prices. For them, the vintage choice is not enough. They also want access to the “crème de la crème”, the finest and rarest ever.

Focus on prestige cuvee. As a general rule, the brand does not offer non-vintage wine, so even excellent cuvees like Krug Grande Cuvee will not be sold. Vintage Clos du Mesnil or Clos d’Ambonnay will be the preferred replacement candidates as far as Krug is concerned.

Visit this new type of wine shop at Shop 3 , G/F , 32 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong for a new dedication to French wine in Hong Kong!
