  • Sileni Estate Selection The Lodge Chardonnay 2007, New Zealand (Bronze Medal – Bragato Wine Awards (NZ), 2008)
  • Tierra Alta Reserva Chardonnay 08, Chile
  • La Morandina Moscato d’Asti DOCG 08, Italy (Score: 2 glasses – Slow Food Editore)

Meet Wine Makers at the Australian Red Workshop

Alcove Wine Studio’s Australian wine workshop this Thursday.

Roy The Cattleman and Tim Kidman, CEO of Kidman Coonawarra Wines are guest speakers at the Australian Red Wine Workshop. They will introduce a variety of Australian reds from the Coonawarra region.  Coonawarra is known for producing excellent reds like Carbenet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Viognier due to the  rich red terra rossa soil, limestone, pure underground water and a long cool ripening season for the grapes.

The following wines will be available for tasting at the workshop:

  • Kidman Coonawara Wines
  • Somerled 2003 McLaren Vale Shiraz – 91 pts Halliday
  • Wisanger Hills 2004 Carbernet Sauvignon
  • Bundaleer 2006 Southern Flinders Shiraz – 93 pts Halliday

Romancing Italian Wine at SoHo’s Alcove

If you love Italian wine, here’s a tasting not to be missed. Envitaly, a  wine distributor that imports specifically Italian wine is having a tasting on June 25, 2009.  Tasting will be held at Alcove in Soho. Alcove is a private kitchen specializing in traditional Hangzhou cuisines. The place has been designed to impress, taking on traditional Chinese elements but updated with a contemporary design sensibility.

What you will be tasting?

Some pretty high scoring wine according to Wine Spectator and Slow Food Editore.
