Dragon 8 Wine and Whisky Auction Set For 11th June 2016

Hong Kong based auction house, Dragon 8 will be holding its wine and whisky auction this Saturday, the 11th of June 2016 at The Pool House on the 11th floor of the Grand Hyatt in Wan Chai. 204 lots of wine and whisky will be on auction on this day and you can bid live at the event, online or via telephone.

For those planning to attend the auction, the event will begin at 12pm with caviar and flowing champagne followed by a buffet lunch to get guests ready for the auction which is schedule to kick off at 12:30pm. Guests are required to register online and the 164 page catalogue is ready online also.

Highlights of the auction include full cases of DRC Romanée-Conti 1990 & 1988, several vintages from Henri Jayer’s legendary Cros Parantoux, great vintages of Petrus (including cases of 2009 in Magnums), bottles of Domaine Armand Rousseau 1996 and the world premiere of the 65-year-old Macallan in Lalique. Other lots include rare cases of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 1918 and Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1928 as well as a wide selection of 18 year old Macallan Gold Label and treasured Japanese whisky.

About The Restaurant: Standing at two-storey tall on Shin Hing Street between Hollywood Road and Gough Street is Figaro, a French wine bar and restaurant serving a large range of wines as well as French classics in small plates for sharing. Don’t expect a huge restaurant; Figaro is tiny but cosy, seating about only 20 pax at one go. The bar is on the ground floor while the casual restaurant is on the first floor. With its bare décor of just clean lines and neutral colours with some quirky touches, what Figaro aims to be is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by both wine and food connoisseurs.
