The wine world turns its eyes to China’s growing wine drinkers.

The famed director and winemaker is coming to town.

The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, The Outsiders, Dracula – these are the legendary films directed by the equally legendary Francis Ford Coppola and he’s coming to town for Winefuture HK ’11.
This landmark event takes place November 6-8 in Hong Kong at the AsiaWorld Expo which also includes wine industry elites like Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson, James Sucking and Gary Vaynerchuk amongst other giants of the wine industry.
Mr. Coppola plans to speak about the recent announcement that his celebrated Rubicon Estate in Rutherford, Napa Valley, will be known henceforth by its historic original name, Inglenook, and he will discuss his overall goal of restoring the winery into America’s greatest wine estate.

The 5th Fair brings the best Hong Kong turnout ever!

Sopexa Hong Kong put on its 5th annual Alsace Wine Fair at the Nice Restaurant in Causeway Bay last week that brought out all of Hong Kong’s wine distributors carrying wine from Alsace, France.
The event was such a huge success that it garnered the biggest turn-out yet, showcasing the growing popularity of Alsace wine in Hong Kong.

A wide selection of new French wines showcased in Mong Kok.

Sopexa Hong Kong put on their annual French Wines Trade Show 2011 earlier this month at The Langham Place hotel that put a spotlight on some new boutique wineries from France looking to break into the Hong Kong and China markets.
Winebuzz.hk was there with our video cameras and we talked to some of the winemakers and export managers from Clos Monicord, Alliance Alsace and Champagne Charpentier to learn more about what their wines are all about and what they think of the local market.

Château Cheval Blanc stars in upcoming exclusive French wine tasting.

Château Cheval Blanc is this year’s star wine in Le Grand Day of Indulgence 2011, one of Hong Kong’s most indulgent French wine tastings. The exclusive event, on 17th September, is a rare chance to try some of the finest vintages of Château Cheval Blanc and meet the Château’s director Mr Pierre Lurton.
