New Italian restaurant and wine bar opens in the new iSquare.

The new iSquare, located in Tsim Sha Tsui, is the new home of Carpaccio – a pasta, pizza and wine shop brought to you by the DiVino Group to offer casual, fast dining morning, noon or night. DiVino currently owns three more Italian restaurants in Hong Kong including Goccia Ristorante e Bar, with simple recipes made from high-quality, fresh ingredients guaranteeing authentic Italian tastes. It’s home cooking away from home, with the look and feel of a true tratorria.
True to its name, the restaurant will have many different carpaccio selections served chilled or warm. With very affordable prices, take the “Grand Tour” to taste fifty different wine selections from Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand and Chile. More than twenty different wines are offered by glass or half-glass, which cost HK$35.

Drop by Pacific Place’s fine-dining Italian for a whole new restaurant.

The kitchen of Domani on Level 4 of Pacific Place in Admiralty has been revamped with the very latest culinary technology in order to complement executive chef, Michele Bernnachia’s delicately crafted dishes.
The whole restaurant has been remodeled with white leather furniture in the bar area and bright white counter tops, a flowing steel “ribbon” rooftop, dining lights have been re-installed with intricately designed exteriors of swirling black detail, giving the restaurant a brighter glow, but still offering an intimate setting.
But probably the most impotant new installation is Mr. Giovanni Perna who brings a new style of hospitality to the restaurant. From the 2 Michelin star restaurant, Rossellini’s in the Hotel Palazzo Sasso in Ravello, Italy to the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan to the role of hotel Sommelier for the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Perna brings his extensive F&B knowledge and professional sommelier accreditation from the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) – a high ranking qualification recognized in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Look to visit the new Domani soon for an evening of fine wine and dining in Hong Kong.

Spoon is back with more fun and sophistication.

Alain Ducasse’s Spoon at the InterContinenal Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui recently got a revamp and is back with its casual-chic interior that simply oozes French elegance, and a new seductive French menu of carefully selected modern dishes and an even more seductive extensive wine list.
And don’t be put off, just because it’s fine dining doesn’t mean it has to be rigid at all, Chef Sommelier of the Alain Ducasse Group, Gerard Margeon, and Chief Sommelier, Nicolas Deneux, have taken all the steps to give you a more friendly approach, working hard at putting together an impressive wine list and it shows. Lucky for us, we here at Winebuzz.hk got the chance to sit down with these two experts to review their choices and here’s what we found…
First of all, let us say that at a glance of the 650 references and approximately 6,000 bottles from all over the world, we quickly realized we were probably looking at one of Hong Kong’s most extensive wine lists! More than ever, Spoon has more French wines in its collection this time with Nicolas describing it as about; “70% French wines, the rest from Europe – Old World wines meet New World wines” – the perfect combination, we think you’ll agree.

French wine and dining just got more interesting in Tsim Sha Tsui.

We were lucky enough to meet with Mr. Gerard Margeon – Chief Sommelier for the Alain Ducasse Group – today, as Mr. Ducasse himself is in town putting the final touches on the brand new, or should we say, evolution of Spoon at the InterContinental Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui.
While the full interview is being put together, we wanted to share with you some of the things that Mr. Margeon and Chief Sommelier Nicolas Deneux told us this morning. Most impressive is the new (and exclusive to Spoon in Hong Kong) 25 cl serving carafes and their original champagne glass designed by Mr Margeon himself shown in the photos above.
If you haven’t been to Spoon in awhile, then now is the perfect time to get re-acquainted with modern and causal French dining with, of course, one of the best and most breathtaking views in Hong Kong.
More on the new Spoon coming later this week.
