I make it a goal to discover new kitchens tucked into hidden corners of the city, although no private kitchen has yet surpassed my benchmark favourite - TBLS. To get a coveted spot at TBLS usually means calling months in advance to make a booking.
The menu runs around 5 courses, and are changed monthly based on seasonal ingredients. This little 20-seater is the brainchild of Chef Que Vinh Dang, who comes from a Vietnamese-American heritage and has trained and worked in top kitchens in New York before making the big move to Fragrant Harbour.
New York’s favourite wine and tapas house, Boqueria, is now open in LKF Tower.
Trendy wine and tapas bar, Boquerianamed after Barcelona’s central food market has just opened in Hong Kong. A popular New York tapas joint since it opened in the fashion district in 2006, Boqueria aims to bring Barcelona’s famed food market vibes to Hong Kong and is the most recent addition to the Lan Kwai Fong Tower.
As part of the Italian quality and lifestyle month which showcases Italian lifestyle and culture in Hong Kong, The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao is running A Tavola (which means come to the table in Italian) in June. A Tavola is a food promotion where Italian chefs in Hong Kong create special menus in their restaurant base on their particular region of origin. This is a great opportunity to sample a wide range of Italian cuisine prepared by authentic Italian chefs from the regions where the dishes originate.
