A two-part sale offers vintage wines from around the world.
Christie’s Hong Kong will host a two-part wine sale on 25 May for its Spring 2013 Auctions, which totals over 590 lots valued beyond HK$35 million. The sale offers vintage wines from all over the world, with top Burgundy and Bordeaux wines taking center stage.

Vinitaly International, the ambassador of Italian wine and Zachys Asia will run the first edition of “Hong Kong’s Finest Italian Wine Auction” on May 25th at JW Marriott Hotel. As the prices for Bordeaux dropped, the time is right for Italian wines to be on offer at an auction market that was worth US$22.6 million or HK$175 million in the first quarter of 2013, with an the average price per lot of US$4,095 or HK$31,783 – Wine Spectator.
A collection of fine and rare wines, cognac and whisky for auction at the Island Shangri-La.
On 23 May, the Island Shangri-La hosts Bonhams Hong Kong 2013 Spring Auction, offering an incredible selection of fine and rare wines and spirits from all across the globe. Highlights from the 450 lots worth an extravagant estimate of HK$12 million include a case of the iconic Romanée Conti 1988 and solid cases of Chateau Pétrus, Lafite and Mouton Rothschild 1982 vintage. In terms of whisky, a very special bottle of Macallan Albert Watson 1946-56, one of only 36 ever produced, is sure to excite bidders as are the Japanese single malts from the renowned Karuizawa and Hanyu distilleries.
Zachys offers online only wine auction.
Zachys Asia has launched the first online-only wine auction that’s now open for bidding until 23 April 2013, 9pm HKT. This is a smart move to offer a longer bidding period apart from the usual 2 days auction that are currently being held.
For this e-auction, Zachys offers also a “Buy It Now” option, which is a new feature for their online wine auctions. What this means is rather than placing bids, waiting it out and competing in the auction, you can simply choose to, like it says, buy it now and purchase the lot immediately for the price listed.
Auction features private wines from French collectors and a special arts series.
The Fine Wine French Auctioneers (FWFA) holds their third auction in Hong Kong on 18 & 20 April 2013 at The Excelsior Hotel. Titled The Different Spring Auction 3, the two-day auction offers 966 lots from highly esteemed châteaux and private cellars in France. The auction will interest fine wine collectors as these wines aren’t released on the open market, nor are they available through resellers.
