Adelaide Cellar Door is an online wine outlet that specializes in a selection of interesting wines from small family owned wineries in Australia and New Zealand. During HOFEX, they invited a number of prominent winemakers from the South Australian region to introduce their distinctive wines to the HK/Greater China market. We had the opportunity to speak to some of them, and of course, to taste their wines!
BUNDALEER WINES
Specializing in Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, all red wines produced from Bundaleer Wines are made exclusively from grapes from their own vineyard in the Southern Flinders region of South Australia. Says Angela Meaney, Winemaker of Bundaleer wines, “our success comes from a genuine love of wine and attention to detail, I personally choose premium grapes for many of our wines, and am hands on at every stage of the wine making journey”.
We had the opportunity to taste their Sparkling Shiraz NZ, which was outstanding. Winner of Consumer Judges wine of the year in Australia in 2008, the wine is rich with true Australian style – subtly fruity with a gentle touch of tannins and a hint of sweetness, served chilled it is a refreshing wine perfect as an aperitif or for a lazy Sunday brunch.
