Castello Banfi – Pioneers in Wine Making
A wine event not to be missed.
Castello Banfi is a family-owned vineyard estate and winery in the Brunello region of Tuscany. Together with its sister estates in Piedmont, Vigne Regali and Principessa Gavia, it has become recognized the world over for its dedication to excellence and sparking a renaissance in the art of Italian winemaking.
The horizon system combines barrel coopers and steel tank makers, allowing Banfi to harness the best of both worlds – temperature control offered by stainless steel and the character inherent from fermentation in oak. Possessing the typical aesthetics of a traditional oak fermenter, these innovative tanks have broad oak staves as the central body, complete with a stainless steel head and base. The hybrid tanks are then placed on the mezzanine of a two-tier platform, allowing gravity to do its thing.
Kowloon Shangri-La’s Angelini Restaurant will be holding a wine dinner where diners will be able to meet Rudi Buratti, head winemaker of Castello Banfi and taste some of his the most exclusive wines, particulary the five stars vintage Brunellos 2007, first Brunellos made using their unique Horizon System and recently rated 94 and 96 pts by JS.
