New wine store and education center in Lan Kwai Fong.
Last week, The Flying Winemaker wine store had a delicious launch party to introduce Hong Kong’s latest new concept wine store to us connoisseurs. The Flying Winemaker takes over the 2 level shop right (formerly Italian fashion brand Slowear) at the corner of Wyndham Street and D’Aguilar Street, and right across from Wooloomooloo at the tip of Lan Kwai Fong. This ultra hip hang-out is designed as a meeting place for wine-lovers to discover, learn and enjoy wine in a relaxed space in plastic cups, not restrictive wine glasses.

Champagne house Krug releases Vintage 00 and CDM 00.
Everyone knows Krug Champagne, but there are now two new releases that are sure to be the ‘sparklers’ of the moment: their Vintage 00 and Clos du Mesnil 2000.
Krug lovers will adore the exclusivity of their Clos du Mesnil 2000 – born in a difficult year with a hailstorm that devastated the majority of the village, the single-walled plot Chardonnay vines used for this fine champagne survived and left opulent and elegant grapes which produced a luminous wine bursting with ripe apple, toffee, honey, gingerbread, peaches and white blossom. The magical Robert Parker Jr. grand tasting at Wine Future, Hong Kong 2011.
Robert Parker Jr. Magical 20 Bordeaux wine tasting from the 2009 vintage at Wine Future Hong Kong was one of the summit’s highlight event for alot of people. Robert Parker Jr. described the selection the 20 wines from the 2009 vintage of as the greatest tasting of young wine ever.
Parker was an engaging speaker who opened the tasting by telling the audience how he came to discover and became obsessed with wine on a trip to France during college and how he only drank wine because it was cheaper than Coca-Cola.
