Viva Espagna!

A Spanish Wine Fair featuring more than 20 Spanish wines will be held on January 22, 2011. A great way to learn more about wines from Spain, the mini fair will feature wines from different Spanish wine distributors and there will be a brief introduction and guided tasting on Spanish wines provided by Certified Sommelier, Danny Wong.

A  blind tasting competition is in the works to test your nose and palette with prizes. Purchases can be made at the event if you find a wine you like to take home. Tickets are limited so RSVP is required if you would like to come.

Spain represents the third largest producer of wine in the world with over 2.9 million acres of land allocated to planting vines. Spain has an abundance of native grape with some of the more famous Spanish varieties including Tempranillo, known for its berryish fruit, herbaceousness, earthy character and balanced minerality. Others varieties include Garnacha, Palomino, Airen, Macabeo, Parellada and Monastrell and you will get to discover them at this fair.
