Action in Store for Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair 2010
Get ready to raise a glass or two at the HKCEC on November 4-6th.
Master classes, pairing competitions and a bevy of bevies at this year’s Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair which is tipped to be better than ever!
Wine and spirit merchants from across the globe will take to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre next month for the third annual Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair.
In a sweeping departure from the past, the event will this year see Australia taking up the role of Partner Country – the first time for a New World producing nation to do so. Exhibitors from Argentina, Spain, Portugal, France and Italy meanwhile will also have a strong presence, each having committed to their own pavilion.
Following the positive feedback from last year’s event, the show will once again play host the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, which will feature some around 1,300 types of vino (which was last year’s number), each of which will be judged and graded by an all-Asian panel, aided by celebrity guest-judge Tim Atkin, a Master of Wine and multi-award-winning wine writer.
Visitors to the Fair can also get their own piece of the judging action by casting a vote in the Most Beloved Wine competition, winners for which will be announced at the end of the show.
The Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair runs from November 4-6.
While entry is restricted to members of the industry, public tickets are available on the final day for HK$200 a head which, considering how much free booze you’ll get out of this, is quite the steal!
