Christie’s Spring Fine and Rare Wine Auction Set for May 29, 2010
Christie’s rare Liquid Gold Collection at the May auction.

Christie’s much anticipated Fine & Rare Wines auction will be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center next month on May 29, 2010.
This auction offers a wide array of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne from elite vintages and cellars. The sale will feature over 350 lots and is expected to fetch somewhere in the region of HK$30 million according to Christies.
Château Lafite Rothschild Vintage 1949
Highlights of the auction include the “The Liquid Gold Collection” where the largest collection (129 bottles and 40 magnums) of Château d’ Yquem vintages spanning three centuries, from 1825 to 2005, will come to auction.
Some of the wines offered for auction include:
- Château Lafite-Rothschild Vintage 1949, 4 bottles, estimate sale price: HK$150,000-200,000
- Château Mouton-Rothschild, full cases of 1944,1952, 1953, estimate sale price: HK$80,000
- Château Latour, 1959 vintage, 6 bottles estimate sale price: HK$120,000- 150,000
