Acker Merrall & Condit’s second auction sets record high.

Following the success of its March auction, Acker Merrall & Condit’s held its second auction in Hong Kong on May 30, 2009, realizing an impressive total of HK$37.5M (US$4.82 Million) – making the firm the largest wine auction series in Hong Kong this year. The auction consisted of an array of over 1,100 lots of the world’s most sought-after wines and champagnes, most notable being the six bottle lot of rare 1985 Henri Jayer Richebourg which sold for HK$532,400 (US$68,432), to a Hong Kong buyer.
“We are delighted with the excellent performance of the sale today. The result is a testament to the strength of the wine market in Asia and underlines Hong Kong’s leading role as a regional hub of fine and rare wines” said John Kapon, Acker Merrall & Condit’s President and Auction Director.
Acker Merrall will conduct two auctions this fall in Hong Kong on 19 September and 7 November.
