Read all about it so you sound like you know about wine.

Everyone loves wine. We’re drinking it right now as we type this – but I have no real idea of which one to drink other than what friends recommend or buy for me. This U.S. site called OpenBottles is a wine community where people review and discuss all types of wine. Its easy to search and in my 10-minutes of reading through the site I learned something new about California wine. Its a great bluffer site as well to read just before you head out for a wine testing in Admiralty.

Hemp-based spaghetti gets tackled by the cops.

The SCMP is reporting that the organic food supermarket ThreeSixty (that giant supermarket in The Landmark) had to pull some of their organic spaghetti off their shelves before the cops could bust them for selling marijuana since apparently this brand of spaghetto is made with some small amount of cannabis via its “hemp flour.”
Even though the store insisted that it was not against the law to sell the product in Hong Kong, it withdrew the spaghetti from sale on Friday following inquiries by the South China Morning Post.
The spaghetti, made by German company Biona, is known as “cannapasta”, short for cannabis pasta, and its labelling states it contains organic durum semolina and 11 per cent organic hemp flour.
Hemp flour is made from ground seeds of the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. Seeds do not contain the mind-altering substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). None of the spaghetti products has been taken for testing, so it remains unclear if the pasta contained any traces of THC.
Advocates of hemp insist that food containing the seed should not be associated with the drug marijuana and that it is beneficial to health, as the seeds are high in omega-3 oils. They say any trace amounts of THC are harmless, just like the trace amounts of opiates in poppy seeds.
Hemp products have had a rocky history in Hong Kong with the Body Shop being forced to withdraw hemp-seed items in 1998.

Interactive TV is really here in Hong Kong.

Many of you have ordered some kind of food by phone like pizza or used the Food by Fone service. But Dial a Dinner takes the game to a whole new level: the name is misleading since you can order online and now through your NOW TV, on Channel 501.
Ordering through your TV is what got us excited and its a pretty neat service as you can order from restaurants like Coyote Mexican, Cafe Siam, Delaney’s, Outback Steakhouse, Thai Orchid, Malaymama and so many more. It also goes to the next step by delivering beer and convenience store items as well like batteries, ice, toilet paper (!) and even cigarettes. OK how lazy can you be in Hong Kong when everything is just “downstairs” but in the hectic life many of us lead in Hong Kong a service like this is the future we were promised in 1999 but its here now.
Check out the site here or just go to channel 501 on your Now TV and from now till May 10th when you place any order you’ll get a HK$100 coupon and one dessert free.

Dieters can see what their diet looks look.

You know when you go on a diet or want to count calories you get messed up? Like a bag of chips says 12 pieces is 200 calories but who’s counting? This site has an amazing array of photos of what 200 calories of food actually looks like.
From cereal to candy to fast food, this visual guide lets you see how much you should be eating of your daily in-take. It’s neat to see that a handful of Doritos has the same amount of calories as 3 eggs or half a McChicken or 2 glasses of Coca-Cola.
